Voluspa candles were co-founded by Traci and Troy Arntsen. Unlike many high end brands that use some form of high quality paraffin, Voluspa candles instead use a type of coconut wax which is much safer to use, similar to the organic soy wax used in brands like Koji Candles.

This wax is less expensive than beeswax and also ensures you won’t be dealing with the harmful effects of paraffin. Besides candle, Voluspa also sells oil diffusers.

There are five “collections” sold by Voluspa called Maison Blanc, Maison Noir, Vermeil, and Japonica, each with distinct candles to choose from. As you explore these collections, you’ll notice one of the most distinctive features of Voluspa: the candle holders.

Each candle comes beautifully packaged, with many like the Metallo Candle featuring intricate designs that instantly grab attention. Instead of the typical glass candle holders, the containers are excellent to use to store small items such as jewelry or accessories once they’ve burned out.

This is where things can get a little iffy. While Voluspa sells single wick candles, the larger and more intricately designed ones come with two or three wicks. While this helps emanate the scent and reinforces the brand’s distinctive look, the wax can burn unusually quick.

Considering some of these candles can cost over thirty dollars, it’s worth keeping in mind if you’re looking for something to give a room a nice scent and aren’t as concerned with looks. As with any candle, your experience will vary.
