A barnacle is a small, hard or crusty creature that attaches itself to rocks, ships, or other animals in the water. Though they may look harmless, barnacles can be quite a nuisance. If you’ve ever been to the beach and stepped on one, you know how sharp their shells can be!

But what about eating them? Can you eat a barnacle?\n\nThe short answer is yes, but it’s not exactly common.

Barnacles are generally considered to be a delicacy in parts of Europe and Asia. In fact, some people consider them to be an aphrodisiac! If you’re feeling adventurous and want to try something new, why not give it a go?
