If your office chair starts to sink slowly when you sit in it, or if it won’t stay at the height you set it at, then it’s time to fix your hydraulic chair. This is a relatively easy repair that you can do yourself, and it only takes a few minutes. Here’s how to fix a hydraulic chair: \n\n

First, identify the problem. If your chair sinks slowly, then the cylinder isn’t holding air. If the chair won’t stay at a certain height, then the release valve may be blocked or damaged. \n\n

Once you know what the problem is, get a replacement part from your local hardware store (or online). For a slow-sinking cylinder, you’ll need a new one that’s the same size as your old one. For a release valve issue, make sure to get the right model for your chair. \n\n

To replace the cylinder, unscrew the old one from the base of the chair and screw in the new one. Make sure it’s tight so there are no leaks. Then pump up the cylinder until it reaches the desired height. \n\n

To replace or unblock the release valve, first remove any debris that may be blocking it. If that doesn’t work, then unscrewthe old valve and screw in a new one (again making sure it’s tight). You should now be able to adjustthe height of your chair without any problems!<\/p>\n \n
