If you’re finding that your office chair is constantly leaning back, there are a few things you can do to try and fix the issue. First, check to see if the chair’s base is level. If it’s not, adjust it until it is.

Next, take a look at the tension knob located under the seat. Turning this knob clockwise will make the chair harder to lean back in, while turning it counterclockwise will make it easier. Finally, if your chair still won’t stay upright, try placing a weight on the front of the seat (such as a stack of books or a heavy briefcase).
