If you have a split chair seat, don’t despair. With a little time and effort, you can easily fix it yourself. Here’s what you’ll need to do:\n\n

First, remove the old seat from the chair. If it’s held on with screws, simply unscrew them and set the seat aside. If it’s glued on, you’ll need to use a putty knife or other flat tool to pry it off.

Be careful not to damage the chair in the process.\n\nNext, clean up any debris from the seat area so that you have a smooth surface to work with. Then, measure the width and length of the seat so that you know how much new material you’ll need to purchase.\n\n

Now go to your local hardware store or home improvement center and purchase some wood glue and either fabric or leather (depending on what your chair is upholstered with). You may also need some clamps if your furniture doesn’t already have them built in.<\/p>\n \n
