If you have an old chair that’s seen better days, don’t throw it out \u2013 there are plenty of ways to give it a new lease on life. With a little bit of elbow grease and some creative thinking, you can transform even the most decrepit chair into something functional and stylish. Here are some tips on how to fix an old chair: \n\n

Start by assessing the damage. Is the frame sturdy, or does it wobble? Are the legs loose or broken?

Is the seat cushioned or upholstered? Once you know what needs to be repaired, you can start planning your strategy.\n\nIf the frame is weak or wobbly, reinforce it with brackets or dowels.

You may also need to replace missing screws or nails. If one of the legs is broken, you can either replace it entirely (if you’re handy with woodworking) or try repairing it with epoxy glue. Loose legs can usually be tightened with a screwdriver or Allen wrench.\n\n
