Side chairs are one of the most commonly reupholstered pieces of furniture. Though the process may seem daunting, it is actually fairly simple and only takes a few hours to complete. Here are the steps you need to follow to reupholster a side chair:\n\n

1. Remove the old fabric from the chair. This can be done by either unscrewing the staples that hold it in place, or by carefully cutting it away with a utility knife. Be sure to remove all of the old fabric, as well as any foam padding or batting.\n\n

2. Measure and cut your new fabric. You will want to add about 2 inches to all sides, in order to allow for adequate coverage and wrapping around the edges of the chair.\n\n3. Place the new fabric over the frame of the chair and begin stapling it into place, working from the center outwards towards each corner.

Be sure to pull taut as you staple, so that there are no wrinkles or sagging in the final product.\n\n4. Once all of the fabric is secure, replace any foam padding or batting that was removed in step one. This will help to give your chair a more polished look and feel.\n\n<\/p>\n \n
