When it comes to adding vanilla extract to recipes, the amount you use can be a bit tricky. Too much and your food will taste artificial, too little and you may not even be able to taste the vanilla at all. So how much vanilla extract should you use?

The answer really depends on the recipe and your own personal preferences. For most recipes, a teaspoon or two of vanilla extract is all you need. If you’re making something like cookies or cakes where the flavor of vanilla is more prominent, you may want to use a tablespoon or even up to an ounce.

When in doubt, start with less and add more as needed. You can always add more, but you can’t take it away once it’s in there!<\/p>\n \n
